Artefact 1 -Evaluation

In review of my first artefact I have determined the target audience for my research which is 18-65. This has been reaffirmed by getting results from each age group I put down in the questionnaire. The verdict I gained from this is I will continue to use this as the target audience. I found that people over 65 plus did not engage the questionnaire. This was not due to not asking them to participate but because they felt that they were there to just watch sports. I would not do this type of experiment again as I would what people to answer questions in their own time and leads me to that.

Reviewing the questionnaire lead me to focus on two sports ( soccer & American football) in the next artefact as the other sports I listed were not popular with what I set to find out. This was due to the responses I gathered. Focusing on the two sports will allow me to focus my next artefact into what I intend to gather in the next experiment.

Another area of interest I have found out is not everyone will find what I intent to do is not popular. This is due to question seven.

Question seven asked “Would you be interested in hearing what was said in clip 2? If yes, explain why”. Not everyone unanimously said yes to this question. Only 40% of people said yes. This shows me that 60% of my audience are traditionalist and wouldn’t like to hear what was said in clip two.

The reasons that they gave were varied on this one but all the responses were interesting. One response was “I wouldn’t like to hear what he was saying because their wouldn’t be anything to talk about after the game” This may be an area I can investigate to follow on. This leads me to conclude that for the 40% who said yes where could they access this?

With the responses from question 4 and 5 I have also determined that another area of interest to investigate will be; where I can put highlighted packages with the changes made to them in regards to sound.

Out of 11 people out of 20 that said they did have digital TV but only 7 of them had it for the purposes of watching sports broadcast. The has made me review where I intend the viewers to see modified highlighted packages. I intent to further investigate this.
