Client Project

Task for Client project

Produce 5 video's on the historic Lace Market area of Nottingham.

The purpose for our the video’s is to not only to help people locate the historical places around the area, but also to inform them of the profound history that these places carry, which leads as far back as the 1700’s.

Also to find and include seprately the following;
1. Links to the photographs of the building/area/artefacts
2. Links to websites (containing further information)
3. Links to other video’s relevant to the place
4. Archive video
5. Drawings and paintings of the area/buildings

The target audience are tourists visiting the city and it will be based specifically in the Lace Market area of Nottingham city centre. The content is for an application that will have small videos about the buildings and their history. The content that will consist of this will be film clips, archive photographs, and further information about each place.
The video’s will be voiceover driven tour of the different places located on tour. This will include archive material.

The video’s will be for, four buildings in the Lace Market. These are The Broadway, St. Mary’s Church, the Galleries of Justice and the Adams Building

There will be an initial video of up to 4-minutes that will briefly sum up history of the Lace Market area. However, their will be specific videoes on specific building to discover , there will be a 2-minute clip for each of these historical places telling you what they are and what it used to be in the past. This will also give you an option to browse through images of the past from that place with other archive material to support it. All clips will be shot in a DV format.

The people involved in the designing of the project are Umar Hussain and Abdul Seedat. Both having strong backgrounds in the area of multimedia, they also specialise in making short films and producing documentaries. They also have extensive knowledge in editing and using various editing software’s. Both Abdul Seedat and Umar Hussain have worked on many projects together, ranging from producing a documentary for YMCA England to working with local organisations such as the Notts County Football team in supporting them with a short film. Most recently, they were both responsible for filming and editing a short film produced for final year graduate Fashion Marketing and Communications students, which was showcased at their exhibition.

We will be responsible for just the video’s and some of the archive pictures that we will include may be copyright protected, so they may incur a small fee to the Local Studies Library of Nottingham, The Evening Post and from websites
